Exclusive: Blizzard Sends Cease and Desist to World of Warcraft Private Server That Literally Just Had a Guild Drama

In a shocking turn of events, Blizzard has set its legal sights on a small private server for a completely unrelated guild drama. The community is left scratching their heads at the absurdity of it all.

Players on the Wrath of the Lich King private server, ColdShoulderCraft, were left reeling today after receiving a cease and desist letter from Blizzard Entertainment. The reason? A heated argument between two guild members over who forgot to repair their gear before a raid.

“I can’t believe Blizzard is coming after us for something so trivial,” said ColdShoulderCraft’s owner, Dave “LootGoblin69” Johnson. “I thought we were in the clear as long as we didn’t mention ‘WoW’ in our server name, but I guess drama is the real copyright infringement.”

The cease and desist letter reportedly demanded that ColdShoulderCraft shut down immediately and pay damages for emotional distress caused to the two guild members involved. Blizzard’s legal team also insisted that Johnson personally apologize to each player for allowing such drama to unfold on his server.

As news of the bizarre legal action spread, the World of Warcraft private server community erupted in outrage. Many players took to forums and social media to express their disbelief and frustration at Blizzard’s heavy-handed tactics. Some even started a petition to have the company focus on more pressing issues, like fixing their own game.

Despite the uproar, Blizzard shows no signs of backing down. In a statement to the press, a spokesperson for the company doubled down on their decision, stating, “We take all instances of drama, no matter how insignificant, very seriously. Our legal team will continue to monitor private servers for any violations of our intellectual property, including heated arguments over repair bills.”

As ColdShoulderCraft prepares to shut its virtual doors for good, players are left wondering what the future holds for the World of Warcraft private server scene. Will Blizzard continue its crusade against minor infractions, or will they finally address the rampant botting and gold selling that plagues their official servers? Only time will tell.
