Blizzard Sends Cease and Desist to 5-Year-Old Running Vanilla WoW Server in His Treehouse
In a shocking turn of events, Blizzard has set their sights on the youngest private server owner yet.
Little Timmy Jenkins, a 5-year-old aspiring game developer, has been hit with a cease and desist letter from Blizzard Entertainment for running a Vanilla WoW server out of his treehouse. The server, affectionately named ‘Timmy’s Treetop Tavern,’ boasted a whopping playerbase of three—Timmy, his stuffed bear Mr. Fluffykins, and his imaginary friend Sir Reginald.
Blizzard’s legal team argues that Timmy’s server violates their intellectual property rights and threatens the integrity of the World of Warcraft brand. In a statement to the press, Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick declared, ‘We cannot allow unauthorized servers, especially ones run by children who should be outside playing.’
The WoW community has been divided in their response to the controversy. Some players have rallied behind Timmy, praising his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to the game. Others have criticized Blizzard for targeting such a young and innocent fan.
As for Timmy, he has reluctantly shut down his server and returned to playing with action figures in his backyard. When asked for comment, he simply said, ‘I’ll show them. I’ll make my own game, with blackjack and hookers!’
While Timmy may have lost his server, players looking for a Vanilla WoW experience can still find refuge on Wrath-Reborn EU. Sign up now and receive a free Celestial Steed, 10 gold, and level 5 riding for every new account!
