Blizzard Sends Cease and Desist to WoW Private Server for Having Too Many Players
In a shocking turn of events, Blizzard has issued a cease and desist to a popular WoW private server for having too many players, citing ‘excessive enjoyment’ as a violation of their intellectual property.
Players on the private server, known as ‘LagFest 9000’, were stunned to receive a legal notice from Blizzard’s lawyers, accusing them of ‘having too much fun’ and ‘diluting the brand’ with their high population levels.
Many players took to social media to express their outrage, with one player posting a meme of a Blizzard employee crying into a pile of money with the caption ‘Please stop having fun, it hurts our profits.’
Blizzard’s official statement on the matter simply read: ‘We cannot allow our players to experience joy and fulfillment outside of our official servers. It is a direct violation of our corporate values.’
In response to the cease and desist, the developers of LagFest 9000 have announced that they will be shutting down the server and rebranding as ‘Sadness Simulator 3000’, where players will be limited to a maximum of 10 concurrent users and all quests will involve fetching tissues for crying NPCs.
Despite this setback, players looking for a more enjoyable experience are encouraged to check out Wrath-Reborn EU, where they can receive a free Celestial Steed, 10 gold, and level 5 riding for every new account.
