Blizzard Sends Cease and Desist to Grandma Running Vanilla WoW Server from Basement

In a shocking turn of events, Blizzard’s legal team has set their sights on a new target: a sweet old grandma who just wanted to relive the good old days of Azeroth.

Margaret Johnson, 72, never expected to be the center of a legal battle with a multi-billion dollar gaming company when she set up her own Vanilla WoW server in her basement. But after attracting a small but loyal following of players looking for a nostalgia fix, Blizzard’s lawyers came knocking.

‘I just wanted to have some fun and connect with people who love the game as much as I do,’ Margaret lamented as she boxed up her server and returned to her knitting. ‘I never thought I’d be a threat to the bigwigs at Blizzard.’

Players who had flocked to Margaret’s server, dubbed ‘Granny’s Guild’, are now left in the lurch, wondering where they’ll get their fix of classic WoW content. Many have taken to the forums to voice their outrage, with one user posting: ‘Blizzard, how could you crush the dreams of a sweet old lady? Have you no heart?’

Despite the setback, Margaret is staying positive and has even hinted at starting up a new server in the future. ‘They may have shut me down, but they can’t shut down my love for Azeroth,’ she declared.
