Blizzard Legal Team Sends Cease and Desist to WoW Private Server for Using Too Many ‘Epic’ Memes
In a shocking turn of events, a World of Warcraft private server has been hit with a cease and desist from Blizzard’s legal team for their excessive and ‘epic’ use of memes in their server communications.
According to sources close to the server, the cease and desist letter cited the server’s use of ‘too many dank memes’ as a violation of Blizzard’s intellectual property rights. The letter specifically called out the server’s use of Pepe the Frog, Leeroy Jenkins, and ‘That’s the WoW way!’ as examples of infringing content.
In response, the server’s owner issued a statement saying, ‘We are deeply saddened by Blizzard’s decision to target our memes. We believe that memes are an essential part of the WoW experience and we will not stand for this censorship.’ The owner then proceeded to post a series of Pepe memes in defiance.
The WoW community has been in an uproar over the news, with many players taking to social media to express their outrage. One player tweeted, ‘I can’t believe Blizzard is coming after memes now. What’s next, banning jokes in guild chat?’ Another player posted a meme of a sad Pepe with the caption, ‘When Blizzard takes away your memes.’
At the time of writing, Blizzard has not issued any further statements regarding the cease and desist. However, rumors are swirling that they are considering a crackdown on all meme-related content across private servers.
Despite the chaos, one private server is offering a refuge for meme-loving WoW players. Wrath-Reborn EU is proud to announce that they are welcoming all players who have been affected by the meme ban. As a special welcome offer, new accounts will receive a free Celestial Steed, 10 gold, and level 5 riding. Join Wrath-Reborn EU today and keep the memes alive!
