Blizzard Legal Team Sends Cease and Desist to World of Warcraft Private Server for Having Too Much Fun
In a shocking turn of events, the Blizzard legal team has issued a cease and desist to a popular World of Warcraft private server for the crime of having too much fun.
The private server, known as FunTimesWoW, has been a fan-favorite for its relaxed rules, meme-filled events, and overall good vibes. However, it seems that Blizzard is not a fan of all the laughter and enjoyment happening on the server.
In a statement released by Blizzard, they claimed that FunTimesWoW was infringing on their intellectual property by “hover-using memes and jokes that clearly belong to the official World of Warcraft brand.” They also cited concerns about players having “too much fun and not taking the game seriously enough.”
Players on FunTimesWoW have been quick to rally behind the server, with many taking to social media to express their outrage at Blizzard’s heavy-handed tactics. One player tweeted, “Imagine getting a cease and desist for having a good time. This is peak corporate nonsense.”
Despite the cease and desist, FunTimesWoW shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, they have announced plans to host a “Cease and Desist Party” where players can come together to celebrate the joy of gaming in the face of legal threats.
