Blizzard Sends Cease and Desist to WoW Private Server Running ‘Pandemic’ Expansion

In a shocking turn of events, Blizzard has issued a cease and desist to a World of Warcraft private server that was running a custom ‘Pandemic’ expansion, citing copyright infringement and general absurdity.

The private server, known as ‘COVIDCraft,’ had introduced a new ‘Pandemic’ expansion that featured players battling against a deadly virus spreading throughout Azeroth. Players could craft face masks, social distance in raids, and even participate in vaccine distribution quests. However, Blizzard was not amused by the satirical take on real-world events and promptly shut down the server.

In response to the cease and desist, the server’s owner, a self-proclaimed ‘parody enthusiast,’ expressed disappointment at Blizzard’s lack of humor. ‘I thought we were just having some fun with current events and injecting a bit of levity into the game,’ said the owner. ‘But I guess Blizzard is not a fan of our infectious creativity.’

This latest move by Blizzard has sparked a wave of outrage among the WoW private server community, with many players decrying the company’s heavy-handed approach to fan-made content. Some have even started a petition calling for Blizzard to embrace the spirit of parody and satire in the game.

While the fate of ‘COVIDCraft’ remains uncertain, one thing is clear: Blizzard is not afraid to crack down on anything they deem a threat to their intellectual property. As players mourn the loss of the ‘Pandemic’ expansion, they can take solace in the fact that Wrath-Reborn EU is still offering a free Celestial Steed, 10 gold, and level 5 riding for every new account. Join today and ride into the sunset, pandemic-free!
