Exclusive: Blizzard Lawyers Sue Server for Having Too Much Fun
In a shocking turn of events, the latest victim of Blizzard’s legal wrath is a World of Warcraft private server that was accused of being “too enjoyable” for players.
Players on the popular private server, named FunCraft WoW, were devastated to receive a cease and desist letter from Blizzard’s legal team. The letter claimed that the server was infringing on Blizzard’s intellectual property by providing a fun and engaging gameplay experience that rivaled the official World of Warcraft servers.
In a press release, Blizzard stated, “We simply cannot allow private servers to provide a more enjoyable experience than our own official servers. It sets a dangerous precedent that we cannot tolerate.” Players were left scratching their heads at the notion that having fun could be a punishable offense.
The owner of FunCraft WoW, a player known as FunMasterXxX, was heartbroken by the news. “I poured my heart and soul into creating this server for the community,” they lamented. “I never imagined that having too much fun could land me in legal trouble.”
In response to the lawsuit, FunMasterXxX has reluctantly shut down the server, leaving thousands of players without a place to enjoy World of Warcraft. Many players have taken to social media to express their outrage, with hashtags such as #FunPolice and #LetUsHaveFun trending worldwide.
As the World of Warcraft private server scene faces yet another setback, one server is offering a ray of hope.
