Blizzard Sends Cease and Desist to Private Server for Using Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen
In a shocking turn of events, Blizzard has targeted a popular private server for their unconventional staffing choices.
Players on the private server known as ‘RecipeCraft’ were left reeling after receiving a cease and desist letter from Blizzard’s legal team. The reason? The server had been employing a unique approach to Game Masters, hiring actual chefs to oversee player interactions.
A spokesperson for Blizzard stated, ‘While we appreciate the creativity and dedication of private server teams, we must draw the line at using kitchen staff to run a virtual world. It’s simply not in line with our vision for the game.’
The chefs-turned-GMs had been implementing a ‘Too Many Cooks’ policy, where any player dispute or issue would be resolved by a committee of cooks, each adding their own special ingredient to the decision-making process. This led to some… interesting outcomes, to say the least.
Players reported instances of disputes being settled with impromptu cooking competitions, where the loser would have to perform a dance emote in the town square. Others described receiving in-game mail containing actual recipes for dishes like ‘Mage-mite Surprise’ and ‘Warrior Waffles.’
As the private server scrambled to reorganize their staff and comply with Blizzard’s demands, many players were left wondering what other surprises the world of private servers might hold. Will we see a server staffed entirely by clowns next? Only time will tell.
