Blizzard Sends Cease and Desist Letter to Player for Roleplaying as a Murloc
In the latest absurdity in the World of Warcraft private server scene, a player has been slapped with a cease and desist letter from Blizzard for the heinous crime of roleplaying as a murloc.
Player X, known in-game as ‘MurlocMaster69’, was just trying to bring some joy and whimsy to his fellow players by fully committing to the role of a murloc in all his interactions. However, Blizzard was not amused, citing copyright infringement and disrupting the game’s lore.
Upon receiving the cease and desist letter, Player X reportedly responded by gurgling and making unintelligible sounds, further solidifying his commitment to the murloc character. Blizzard has yet to respond to this latest development.
This incident has sparked a debate within the WoW private server community about the limits of roleplaying and the heavy-handedness of Blizzard’s legal team. Some players have even started a petition demanding that Blizzard allow murloc roleplaying in the game.
Whether this will lead to change or simply more legal action remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain: the murlocs will not be silenced.
